    Caulerpa

    Hello Everyone,
I was doing some maintenance and got me nice piece of Cheato to help with nitrates and phosphates.

I noticed the Caulerpa is going crazy so after reading it I am trying to figure out what species I have.

I have read about it going sexual and dumping all the bad back into the tank.

    Can anyone ID?
Should I remove it all and just leave the cheato?

Looks very close to the Caulerpa Prolifera that i run. Mine growth looks just like yours minus my blades have smooth edges. Are yours jagged?

Its is one of the only macros i can grow in my system. Cheato just melts when i add it to my system.

I have been running it for more years then i can count and never noticed an issue from it.

Mine does have the jagged edge to it.

When it covers up rock in the sump I put the rock in the DT and the Tangs go crazy for it.

I think i will will try to put dividers in my sump algae section to keep it separate from the cheato.
